Matcha is a finely milled green tea powder, made from the highest quality shade grown Japanese tea leaves. Traditionally used as part of the tea ceremony and by Buddhist monks prior to long days of meditation. Clearspring Organic Matcha comes from the Uji region of Japan, renowned for the production of the best green tea in the country. The finest, smallest leaves at the top of the tea bush are picked, dried and ground in stone mortars for many hours.
